CORROSION PROTECTION
At Foresco, we look beyond wooden packaging alone. For products that are sensitive to moisture and condensation, we actively study corrosion protection with you. In this way, we ensure your goods arrive after long transport in the same condition in which they were packed.
ACTIVE AND PASSIVE PROTECTION
Temperature differences and condensation often arise during transport. With metal products such as machines, components and sensitive equipment, this can lead to corrosion. Depending on the product, transport duration and conditions, we apply active and/or passive corrosion protection as part of the overall packaging solution.
Passive: barrier foil and aluminium laminate
With passive corrosion protection, we seal the product off from external influences. We use barrier foil or aluminium laminate, combined with desiccants such as silica gel. This creates sealed packaging with a very low humidity level.
This approach provides long-term protection against corrosion, even in changing temperatures and damp conditions. The product remains stable and protected as long as the packaging remains sealed.
Active: VCI/VpCI technology
With active corrosion protection, we work with VCI or VpCI technology. In this method, packaging materials release special molecules that bond to metal surfaces as an invisible protective layer. This layer prevents moisture and oxygen from attacking the metal and therefore stops the corrosion process.
We apply VCI technology in various forms, including:
- Foil
- Paper
- Bags and tablets
- Foam and powders
This protection remains active for as long as the packaging remains closed and disappears naturally once the product is unpacked.
Tailored to your product and transport
Which form of corrosion protection is most suitable depends on your product, the transport duration and the conditions during transit. Our specialists are happy to advise you on the best solution and, where necessary, combine corrosion protection with crates, bases or packing on site.
