HT treatment and ISPM 15
Smooth export outside the EU starts with correct HT treatment in accordance with ISPM 15. Foresco provides this treatment for wooden pallets, packaging and dunnage timber, ensuring your shipment complies with all international export requirements.
Exporting worldwide without issues
In our drying chambers, we treat and mark wooden pallets, packaging and dunnage timber in accordance with ISPM 15 guidelines. ISPM 15 stands for International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 and is intended to prevent the spread of harmful organisms through wood packaging material. With correct HT treatment, you avoid delay, rejection or blockage during border inspections outside the EU.
HT: how the treatment works
During HT treatment, we heat the wood to a minimum core temperature of 56 °C for 30 minutes. This heat treatment (HT stands for Heat Treatment) eliminates any harmful organisms in the wood. Treatment with methyl bromide (MB) has been prohibited since 2010, making HT the only permitted method under ISPM 15.
Certified and controlled
Foresco holds the necessary certifications to carry out HT treatments. In the Netherlands, we are certified by SMHV (Stichting Markering Houten Verpakkingen), and in Belgium by the FASFC (Federal Agency for Food Chain Safety). This gives you the assurance of a treatment that complies with all applicable regulations.
One less thing to worry about
By combining HT treatment and marking with our packaging solutions, we are happy to take an important part of your export concerns off your hands. Whether it concerns wooden pallets, shipping crates, wooden bases/skids or dunnage timber, we ensure the wood is ready for international transport and fits seamlessly into the rest of your logistics process.
